I’m Carl Morcy, Founder and Principal Consultant at Digital Revolution LLC, a firm dedicated to modernizing IT lab computing for the next generation of life sciences innovators.

With over half a decade of robust desktop engineering and lab computing experience right in the heart of Cambridge, MA, I’ve operated at the intersection of scientific R&D and enterprise IT — ensuring laboratory systems remain compliant, secure, scalable, and aligned with scientific workflows.

My background includes working for a leading global lab informatics provider, where I delivered hands-on lab computing services to some of the most innovative biopharma organizations in the world. I’ve also served over 14+ life science clients across various domains — including gene therapy, small molecule, and biologics — through a top-tier IT consultancy.

From remediating complex regulated environments and supporting GxP-aligned data infrastructures, to orchestrating endpoint management, backup strategies, and system validation for chromatography, ELN, and LIMS platforms — I’ve seen firsthand the gaps that exist between IT support and scientific utility.

Facilitate seamless integration of lab IT instrumentation with enterprise tools (Anti-virus, storage, backup, and endpoint management. 

 Lab User Support, Training & Knowledge Management
 

Create and maintain knowledge base articles covering scientific software installations,  operating system upgrades & other IT-related processes.
 

Serve as the primary point of contact for lab IT workflows, ticket management, and end-user experience regarding technical issues in clients' labs. 

 Efficient ticket triage and resolution, with a strong emphasis on responsiveness and clear communication to minimize lab downtime.
 

Coordinating with scientific software vendors and instrument manufacturers to expedite support, manage upgrades, and ensure system compatibility across diverse platforms.
 

Hands-on troubleshooting of lab-based computing systems, including validated workstations, networked lab instruments, and software applications integral to scientific research.
 

Delivering strategic consulting to support lab environments—ensuring alignment between IT infrastructure and scientific objectives, with a focus on security, data integrity, and usability.
